Michigan football's recruiting heater continued on Saturday, landing a four-star running back from SEC country on Saturday, Tyson Robinson.
Out of Mississippi, Robinson is listed at 5-foot-9, 195 pounds. He's ranked No. 224 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, and the other hats on the table on Saturday, in a live announcement on the Rivals YouTube Channel, were Alabama, Arizona State, and Tennessee.
The commitment of Robinson continues an impressive heater on the recruiting trail that has led to a commitment in four consecutive days. Quentin Burrell committed on Wednesday. He's a top-100 wide receiver, followed by the pledge of Xavier Muhammad, a top-100 defensive lineman on Saturday.
Michigan then landed three-star safety Charles Woodson Jr. on Friday. The momentum continued on Saturday with the addition of Robinson, who gave Rivals his reason for choosing Michigan.
4-star RB explains why he chose Michigan football
"I picked Michigan because of Coach Alford," Robinson said. "He's a great running backs coach and then the people he took to the league (NFL) while he was at Ohio State. Then, at Michigan, he's showing me that he's the best developer of talent out there, and there's nothing like a great developer who will get you to the NFL.
The proof is in the pudding as far as Alford is concerned. Michigan has Kalel Mullings drafted after the 2024 season, thanks to the coaching of Alord. Last season, Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall were two of the best backs in the Big Ten, they just weren't able to stay healthy for the entire season, but Alford's impact on them is clear.
There's a reason why Kyle Whittingham decided to Alford on the Michigan football coaching staff. He's an elite recruiter and elite coach. That was reinforced on Saturday with another blue-chip commitment for the Wolverines, who have 11 total commitments, seven of the blue chips. Robinson included.
Nine of those 11 commitments have come since March 29th, and with another commitment expected in the next week, Michigan isn't cooling off anytime soon.
