Official visit season is cranking up this week for Michigan football as five-star recruit Joshua Dobson is expected in Ann Arbor this weekend.
The Wolverines had a few uncommitted targets on campus last weekend, but most of the remaining targets will visit this weekend, or for Victors Weeked (June 19th).
The Wolverines have 16 commitments currently. 247 Sports ranks the class as 17th in the team rankings. 12 of the 16 commitments are blue chips, but some critical targets are still on the board.
Here are four that Kyle Whittingham can't afford to miss on during official visit season.
4-star OL Lincoln Mageo
The Wolverines already have three commitments on the offensive line in the 2027 class. Jakari Lipsey is a top-125 offensive tackle. Sidney Rouleau is another four-star offensive tackle. while Louis Esposito projects to the inside.
It feels like Jim Harding wants another interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class, which is where recent official visitor Lincoln Mageo comes to mind. He has been projected to the Wolverines.
The four-star offensive lineman from California is one of the few offensive line targets on the board, who will be visiting. His announcement is scheduled for July 11th. He visited Utah and is also scheduled to visit Washington, so this recruitment isn't over.
Michigan needs to close.
5-star cornerback Joshua Dobson
Dobson is one of the top targets on the board. His official visit to Michigan is this weekend. Steve Wiltfong posted on X that the Wolverines are "on the gas" in the efforts to land the 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback out of North Carolina.
Texas A&M is the favorite. However, Michigan has shown the ability to overcome other big-name programs for commitments, such as Notre Dame and Alabama. It's certainly possible that the Wolverines can do it again.
With all of the passing game talent in the Big Ten, it certainly would help in the effort to keep up with the Indiana's, Ohio State's and Oregon's of the world.
5-star WR Dakota Guerrant
Dakota Guerrant, the five-star recruit, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, is one of the recruits who will be on campus June 19th.
Kyle Whittingham and the Wolverines have made up ground in this recruitment, but Guerrant doesn't sound sold on the offense. That will make this an uphill battle.
Yet, it's too early to count out the Wolverines. Oregon didn't close out his commitment this past weekend. The door is open. If Whittingham and Jason Beck can convince Guerrant about the offense, Bryce Underwood, too, that could go a long way toward turning the tide.
Anytime you have a five-star recruit in the state, it's important to land him, and the Wolverines don't want to miss this opportunity. They are doing everything they can not to.
4-star DL Seth Tillman
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive lineman from Rock Hill, South Carolina, was recently on campus for an official visit.
According to Trent Knoop, Michigan football "made a move" with Tillman, a blue-chip D-lineman who had 24 sacks over the past two seasons, which would be a huge get. Clemson is considered the favorite at this point, but the Wolverines are trending up.
With Xavier Muhammad in the fold, adding Tillman would really bolster the D-line haul in the 2027 recruiting class, and we all know the secret to beating teams like Ohio State is dominant play in the trenches, signing Muhammad and Tillman would bode well for the future.
