It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.
That's what Michigan football fans have to be thinking after head coach Sherrone Moore and his coaching staff reeled-in another massive commitment in the 2026 class, this one bigger than all the rest as five-star EDGE (according to On3) Carter Meadows, announced his commitment to the Wolverines over Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina, among others.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pounder out of Washington, D.C., is ranked No. 6 overall in the 2026 class, according to the On3 rankings. The On3 Industry rankings, an average of the rankings, has Meadows ranked 36th overall.
Outside of Bryce Underwood, this is among the biggest wins on the recruiting trail for Sherrone Moore. The Wolverines also landed Andrew Babalola, Nate Marshall, and Ty Haywood in the 2025 class, but this feels bigger, especially going head-to-head with Ohio State and Penn State.

Moore, who has been busy on social media teasing all of these commitments, 11 total in June, trolled Ohio State, posting a photo of him celebrating Dominic Zvada's game-winning field goal in Columbus last season.
The Wolverines have surged into the top 10 of the 2026 team rankings via the 247 Sports composite. Michigan is now 9th overall with 17 commitments. They also landed a long snapper who isn't counted.
Although there is some concern about the pledge of Brody Jennings, who was projected to flip, Michigan football is expected to land another four-star cornerback on Monday (Andre Clarke). There are some other pending decisions in the next few days, such as four-star receiver Travis Johnson and four-star safety Donovan Webb.
So the recruiting momentum shouldn't slow down anytime soon. And this win over Ohio State might be a sign of things to come on the trail.
