Michigan football has a ton of momentum on the recruiting trail right now. On Saturday, it reached a fever pitch as five-star EDGE Carter Meadows was projected to the Wolverines.

Projections aren't commitments. But a commitment from the five-star pass rusher seems imminent. If that happens, and Michigan is able to close on guys like Calvin Russell and Savion Hiter, than this could be a top-five recruiting class.

Yet, even in a great class, there are going to be some misses. And now, the first commitment of the class, four-star cornerback Brody Jennings from Florida, has been projected to flip to another program, which just so happens to be in Florida.

Michigan trending to lose a 2026 commitment

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback out of Jacksonville is ranked No. 296 overall in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Recently, Jennings talked about how he wasn't ready to shut down his recruitment, and that's because Miami has started trending.

The Hurricanes actually got an expert projection from the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to pull off the flip. None of the national analysts have projected a flip yet, but this prediction was for a Miami insider, so it feels legit and tracks with where this recruitment has been headed.

The good news for Michigan fans is that Andre Clarke, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback ranked 177th overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, is expected to announce his commitment on Monday.

According to the crystal ball trends and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Wolverines are the heavy favorite. So there is already a replacement on tap for Jennings, but it would have been nice to land both.

Yet, Michigan was projected to flip a Georgia wideout, and it didn't end up happening. So again, predictions aren't commitments. But it feels like Jennings will be leaving the class before too long.
