Big things are happening on the recruiting trail for Michigan football. On Friday, the Wolverines landed two commitments within 15 minutes of each other.
That was the second time this week that the Wolverines landed two commitments in one day. The Wolverines have landed three four-star recruits this week, as well as two three-star prospects.
However, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projections of Steve Wiltfong, EJ Holland, and Ethan McDowell, the Wolverines are trending to land a five-star recruit, at least a five-star according to On3's rankings for the 2026 class. The On3 recruiting prediction machine now gives the Wolverines a 93 percent chance to land his commitment.
Michigan football trending for an elite EDGE
The recruit is Carter Meadows, the elite, 6-foot-6, 225-pound EDGE from Washington, D.C. is ranked sixth overall in the 2026 class by On3. He's 35th overall, according to the On3 Industry rankings, and regardless of the ranking, Meadows would be a massive win.
All three experts put in their projections on Saturday morning. Meadows, who also took official visits to Ohio State and Penn State, hasn't set a decision date yet.
Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore has posted a bunch of eyeball emojis this week, which he does before commitments. Fans have figured out that there are still two commitments that haven't paid off yet.
Moore also posted one of them with four exclamation points, which was after Titan Davis, who is ranked No. 101 overall. Malakai Lee, the four-star offensive tackle who committed on Friday, might have been the target of that post.
Or maybe it was Meadows, and the recruiting reporters are now catching up. With the timing of decisions, I would expect a commitment relatively soon.
Meadows can also be added to the list of 2026 recruits the Wolverines have been projected to land, which still has six, now seven recruits, yet to announce their public commitments.
