Michigan football already landed one blue-chip wide receiver this week, thanks to the commitment of Zion Robinson, a super athletic wide receiver from Texas ranked No. 132 overall.
Robinson is a high-jump state champion (6-8). He runs the 100-meter dash in 10.89, and is a dude who has first-round pick potential. He reminds me a little of Nico Collins. The upside is there.
However, Robinson might not be the last four-star commitment at wide receiver in the 2026 class. There is a good chance that another comes on July 4th from Travis Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wideout ranked No. 144 overall in the 2026 class, via the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Michigan football has also been trending up with four-star Calvin Russell, ranked 47th overall. You wondered if the Wolverines could land all three. Johnson is announcing his commitment next week, and Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, who previously had a crystal ball projection in for Johnson, upped his confidence in his projection, which is a big positive for the Wolverines.

One of the top targets on the board at offensive tackle is 6-foot-6, 318-pound Malakai Lee, the top-ranked player from Hawaii in the 2026 class. He's ranked No. 137 overall. Texas, Georgia, and Alabama have each been battling Michigan football for his commitment.

On Thursday, Sherrone Moore teased another commitment, after getting three already this week, and seemed really excited about it. It feels like he might have been talking about Lee, who has been trending with expert projections to land in Ann Arbor, across all three recruiting sites.
The Wolverines are ranked 18th in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite team rankings. They have 14 commitments -- 15 if you include a long snapper not listed by 247 Sports -- and eight of them are blue-chip recruits.
Seven other blue-chips, Lee included, have been projected to Michigan. If they land them all, that woud be around 15 with Carter Meadows and Savion Hiter still out there.
Big things are happening. Friday should be a continuation of that.
