It's been a productive summer for Michigan football recruiting. The Wolverines started the month of June with just five commitments total in the 2025 recruiting class.

However, the Wolverines knocked it out of the park in June and with official visits. Since then, a class that ranked outside the top 50, ranks 12th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports team rankings, which are according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Michigan football has 12 commitments since the beginning of June. 11 of those are in the 2025 class and Phillip Wright, a three-star wideout who committed to the Wolverines on Saturday, is the latest. The other commitment is elite 2026 quarterback Brady Hart.

What could be next for Michigan football recruiting

In terms of 2025, things are shaping up well. Michigan football is still viewed as the leader for top-100 wideout Andrew Marsh, plus they are still in the mix for another top-100 receiver in Derek Meadows.

Four-star cornerback Jayden Sanders is expected to visit for the recruiting BBQ later this month which could be a great chance to close for the Wolverines with the 6-foot-2 cornerback. Michigan is also on the rise with five-star Andrew Babalola.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle out of Kansas hasn't been projected to the Wolverines but more than one recruiting expert has said Michigan leads. All three of those commitments are possible and could happen in the next month or so.

That would give the Wolverines 16 blue-chip commitments in the 2025 class and their first five-star commitment since Will Johnson in 2022. It would also put U-M in a strong position to land a top-10 class, which would be impressive, considering where things were at the start of the summer.
