Ohio State fans must live a miserable existence. The truth is, they are so obsessed with Michigan football that Buckeye fans can barely enjoy their own national championship.

Michigan football fans know why. Ohio State won the national title but suffered a very painful loss along the way to the Wolverines, which will forever stain their national title. It was a great run but it doesn't compare to Michigan's 15-0 title of 2023.

That's probably why Ohio State fans want the NCAA to "drop the hammer" and vacate wins from Michigan football because Buckeye fans still can't deal with the reality that the Wolverines have beaten their beloved Ohio State football team four times in a row.

Ohio State fans are obsessed

The last time Ohio State led Michigan in the fourth quarter of a game was 2019. Calling the rivalry one-sided since 2021 is an understatement. And the Buckeyes can't even blame the signs in 2024. They can't for 2022 (changed signs) or 2023 (Stalions gone). The 2021 game was just an ass-kicking and Stalions wasn't even on staff at the time.

it's no wonder why Ohio State fans were so obsessed with Michigan's response to the NCAA last week. They took it as a sign that the "hammer" was coming even though there was no new information revealed and the biggest takeaway is that U-M will fight any NCAA overreach.

In other words, it was a total nothing burger. Just like it's a nothing burger that Kirk Herbstreit donned Michigan football gear while on a visit to Michigan with his son, Chase Herbstreit who signed with the Wolverines in the 2025 class as a quarterback.

But you can't always expect rationale takes from Ohio State fans. Ohio's Tate of Barstool Sports took issue with it. He's not alone. Some of the comments on the Tweet posted above actually support Herbstreit, realizing it's completely normal to support his son even if it means wearing Michigan football colors for a day.

Herbstreit cried on TV when Ohio State won the title, which was also weird, but whatever man. To each their own, but Ohio State definitely has a Michigan problem.

Their fans do too.
