With it being official visit season across major college football, look for a traditional power like the Michigan Wolverines to continue to clean up. It may only be Kyle Whittingham's first season in Ann Arbor, but he is already putting in the work in the recruiting department. Michigan appears to be on the verge of having yet another top-10 class for this cycle. Of course, he has to beat out rival teams...

When it comes to four-star edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi, here is who he is looking at the most now.

  • Indiana Hoosiers
  • Michigan Wolverines
  • Minnesota Golden Gophers
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  • Penn State Nittany Lions

At this time, Emedobi has official visits lined up with Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Penn State. He will be visiting Minneapolis on May 29, State College on June 5, Bloomington on June 12, and Ann Arbor on June 19. While it may be a few weeks before Emedobi does make his way to Michigan, his On3/Rivals profile has him as a massive favorite to sign with Michigan at a whopping 94.9 percent!

Indiana might be coming in at a distant second at 1.3 percent, but the Hoosiers are not going away...

Michigan is on the verge of landing 4-star edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi

According to the 247Sports Composite, Emedobi is the No. 10 player from Indiana, the No. 37 edge rusher in the country, and the No. 435 overall recruit in this cycle. The Fort Wayne native has 20 official offers, but is looking predominantly at the five schools listed above. While Notre Dame is still a threat to get him, as committing to them would be of the in-state variety, it might be a two-team race.

Heading into the final weekend of May, all Michigan may really has to do here is bide its time to secure Emedobi's four-star commitment. Minnesota and Penn State may roll out the red carpet for him, but neither the Golden Gophers or the Nittany Lions seem to have much sway in this argument anymore. Again, Indiana is the one team Michigan needs to worry about here, because of who the Hoosiers are.

Emedobi is a borderline four-star prospect in some talent evaluators' eyes. 247Sports only has him as a three-star prospect. They have him as the No. 13 player from Indiana and the No. 57 edge rusher in this class. Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is important to know is if Michigan does beat out Indiana for his commitment, that would be massive in terms of overall Big Ten staying power.

To put it simply, if there was ever a time for a blue-chip prospect to commit in-state to Indiana, while Notre Dame is also firing on all cylinders as a program, this would be it. Michigan does a phenomenal job of recruiting and developing defensive linemen, so committing to the Wolverines would not be a huge surprise here. Again, it is largely expected, but we may have to wait another month or so for this.

At this time, all Michigan needs to do is be a good host in three weeks and they should land Emedobi.
