This won't come as a surprise to Michigan basketball fans, but Juke Harris has now been projected to land with Tennessee.
One of the top players still left in the transfer portal, Harris visited Michigan soon after the portal opened. The Wolverines felt like the favorite, but weren't quite able to close.
North Carolina and Tennessee each emerged as contenders. The Tar Heels settled for other options, while Tennessee has continued to push, including an in-person visit to see Harris in California on Thursday.
Michigan doesn't seem to be making the same effort. It probably knows where things are headed. On Friday, Pete Nakos of On3.com put in a projection for Harris to commit to Tennessee. That jives with what a Tennessee insider said earlier this week on a podcast.
Michigan's starting five is still loaded, even without Juke Harris
We projected what Michigan's starting five would look like without Juke Harris, and honestly, it's still solid. The 6-foot-7 wing would be a welcome addition, but missing out on him doesn't mean the dream of repeating as national champion is dead.
The Wolverines have Elliot Cadeau and Trey McKenney. They also landed one of the best players in the transfer portal, Moustapha Thiam, and also former Tennessee big man J.P. Estrella.
Michigan's worst-case scenario for the other starting spot is five-star signee Brandon McCoy. Dusty May said he would be a major contributor earlier this week. So even without Harris or adding another player, this roster is better than most in college basketball.
And the Wolverines have Dusty May. That's a great spot to be in.
