Michigan's hopes of signing Juke Harris appear to be on the respirator for Dusty May

It seems like Juke Harris is barely on the radar of Michigan basketball after some recent developments.

Michigan basketball might be able to see the writing on the wall when it comes to Wake Forest wing Juke Harris.

The elite transfer portal target, who averaged 21.4 points per game for Wake Forest last season, earning The Most Improved Player award in the ACC, was viewed as a Michigan lean at one point.

That was a long time ago, though. Harris visited nearly three weeks ago. Since then, Tennessee and North Carolina have made a strong push to land him. Rick Barnes continued that on Wednesday, paying a visit to Harris in person. Harris also declared for the NBA draft, which could be a possibility.

Michigan basketball doesn't feel like a contender for Juke Harris

A Tennessee insider said earlier this week that Harris was likely to commit to the Vols this week. Dusty May met with the media on Wednesday. The Michigan basketball head coach said he was "happy" with his roster.

May said the Wolverines were doing some homework on other players in the portal. He can't say anything about Harris, but you got the sense that the Wolverines have moved on.

I'm sure Michigan would still take the commitment of Harris, but it felt like the Wolverines were exploring other options. In the end, Harris might end up sticking in the NBA draft. The 6-foot-7 wing would have been a perfect fit for Michigan. He did say he wants to play for a winner, but the Vols have also made the Elite 8 three years in a row.

The main point is that it doesn't feel like Harris is coming to Ann Arbor, unless there is a drastic change in this transfer portal recruitment.
