At one point, it felt like it was going to be a lock that Michigan and Dusty May were going to land touted Wake Forest transfer Juke Harris. Not long ago, there was 100 percent confidence on On3 that Harris was going to be Big-Ten bound.
The Juke Harris price tag shows Michigan must break the bank to land him
However, things have changed in a big way there. While North Carolina has been working overtime to sign him, the same can be said for Tennessee and Rick Barnes. So much in fact, Michigan reporter Josh Henschke has flipped his official prediction. Originally, he had UM taking Harris off the board, but he has changed that pick to the Vols. Yup, this is not good at all:
Explained why I think the vibes are currently trending in Tennessee’s favor with UNC still jockeying. Michigan is still lurking. This one has taken a few turns so could always change.https://t.co/Z4fQYSI9II https://t.co/mftl4OX1Hc

Tennessee has emerged as the favorite to steal Juke Harris away from Michigan
What in the world changed here? Again, Harris was on campus earlier this month and it seemed like things went brilliantly for him. He was in Ann Arbor for the National Championship celebration, which we assumed was only going to help the Wolverines get things over the line.
Despite that, Barnes isn't going down without a fight and it seems like Tennessee also has put together quite the NIL package to make this work. In case you missed it, Pete Nakos reported that Harris is expected to get around $3 million from his next team.
Yup, that's a pretty penny, but it's just what the market is for arguably the best shooter in the transfer portal. From our chair, we thought that if anyone was going to beat out Michigan for Harris, it was going to be Michael Malone and the Tar Heels.
UNC has also been making a strong push, which included Malone, new assistant Chuck Martin and others having lunch with Harris in his hometown. With him being an NC product too, why wouldn't he want to play close to home if he decided to pass up on Michigan?
With recruiting, though, anything can happen at any moment, which is why it's not going to be a surprise at all if Harris goes with the SEC side. Per his official On3 page, Tennessee is now the 53 percent favorite to receive a commitment from Harris, with Michigan at 46 percent. UNC feels like an afterthought at this point and unless something changes late in this process, the Wolverines are going to miss out on Harris too.
