Michigan football news: Spring highlights, a 'scary' offensive line, and more

Michigan football is expected to have a much more explosive offense next season, plus another spring highlight video.

Spring practice continues for the Michigan football program and we continue to learn about the Wolverines through media interviews, insiders, and some highlight videos.

The Michigan football account on X posted a highlight video on Tuesday, which showed some throws from Jadyn Davis and what looks like Bryce Underwood, although it's hard to see. Jordan Marshall also had a nice run.

It's hard to learn much from a 30-second video, but it's fun to see Michigan football back in action. The spring game is set for April 19th, although it won't be broadcast live.

Bryce Underwood's development has been an obvious storyline for the Wolverines this spring. With Mikey Keene out, Underwood and Jadyn Davis have taken most of the snaps. Underwood was going to be hard enough to keep off the field, but he's got a leg up now.

Michigan football Offensive line could be "scary" good

The offensive line will need to play better than it did last season, regardless of who the starting quarterback is. I wrote earlier this week that Michigan football fans should feel good about the offensive line, but fans can feel even better with the emergence of Brady Norton, an FCS transfer who is also expected to compete for a starting job.

Giovanni El-Hadi, who confirmed with reporters that he'll be playing left guard this season, instead of right guard, said on Wednesday that the offensive line could be "scary," as in good.

Offensive will throw the ball

As long as the offensive line can protect Underwood, I'd expect Michigan football to throw the ball a lot more next season, and a lot more effectively, something confirmed by U-M wideout Donaven McCulley.

"Fast-paced. We're going to throw the ball down the field — that's his vision. ... He really wants to get the ball down the field a lot more," McCulley said on Wednesday via Alejandro Zuniga of 247 Sports..

We have heard about how Michigan needs better wide receivers, but if Underwood gets the protect he needs, my hunch is that he'll do just fine.
