The crown jewel of the 2026 running back class is visiting the maize and blue this weekend, and Michigan football has to knock it out of the park with him. Hiter would fit into Michigan's offense like a glove, and the pairing of him and Bryce Underwood would be limitless. Here are four pitch ideas, besides NIL, that Michigan should devise to help land the services of the generational prospect.

Promise him 5 touchdowns against Ohio State

This is a very difficult promise to make, but not totally impossible. Hassan Haskins did it in 2021, and with all due respect to him, he's not half as talented as Hiter. With the way that Michigan football has been running the ball and commanding the trenches in this rivalry, Hiter and his line mates can continue the trend set by Haskins and his linemen.

Don't sign or flirt with a transfer running back in the same class

As it stands today, Michigan football doesn't have any tailbacks committed to its 2026 class. That could be a ploy to say they are waiting patiently on Hiter's commitment. The coaches should make him feel like he is the No. 1 priority at the position and only one. They have targeted other backs, but none are as interested or as touted as Hiter. He should be viewed as the Bryce Underwood of the class.

Schedule multiple games in his home state of Virginia

With several open dates still on the calendar for future matchups, Michigan can do Hiter a solid by scheduling Virginia or even Virginia Tech, so he can go back to his roots with his family in tow. Hiter is from Mineral, Virginia, which is not too far from Charlottesville and the UVA campus. A bonus experience would be to travel to Blacksburg and feel the atmosphere of Metallica's Enter Sandman entrance at a Virginia Tech game. The Wolverines have never had the pleasure of visiting Lane Stadium before.

Let him wear "cinco" on the back his jersey

Hiter is known as "cinco" on X, and this would be a cool little feature if the NCAA allowed it, but chances are it's against the rules. Out-of-the-box thinking like this can be the difference in gaining his commitment.
