Michigan football dominated the two cover athletes for EA Sports College Football 26, plus Bryce Underwood makes history as a cover athlete.

EA Sports released the cover athletes for College Football 26, both the regular edition the deluxe editions, which come out in early July.

These kinds of things always trigger college football fans, but Michigan football fans have quite a bit to be happy about. Bryce Underwood, the five-star phenom, was put on the cover of the deluxe edition, making him the first true freshman to ever be on the cover of the college football video game.

Surely, rival fans will enjoy that and bring home level-headed takes.

Truth be told, though, Bryce Underwood is the reason I'm buying the game. Michigan football fans will want to use the quarterback on the game, but outside of that, I might have rode with the 2025 edition.

Michigan football has bragging rights over EA Sports College Football 26 cover athletes

The two main cover athletes for EA Sports College Football 26, at least the regular version, are Ohio State and Alabama wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams.

Both players were incredible last season as freshmen. There's no question about their talent or worthiness of being on the cover. Smith is the best player in college football, at least when he's not playing against a Michigan football defense.

The same can be said about Williams.

As well-known Michigan fan Scott Bell pointed out on X, Williams and Smith combined for 43 receiving yards against the Wolverines last season, as well as an 0-2 record.

The Wolverines beat Smith and the second-ranked Buckeyes in Columbus, then defeated Williams and his Alabama team in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
