Even without putting a number on it, you could feel the chances of Yaxel Lendeborg playing for the Michigan Wolverines next season improving.
Lendeborg, a 6-foot-9 transfer from UAB, committed to Michigan basketball this offseason. He also declared for the NBA draft and is taking part in the draft combine.
There's a chance he stays in the NBA draft and doesn't play at all for the Wolverines. Yet, according to what the projected first-round pick said, at least via some mock drafts, the chances are 60-40 that he will suit up for Michigan basketball next season.

Lendeborg said he will take all of the time, up to the deadline of May 28th, to make a decision, according to what he told Andy Katz of the Big Ten Network.
Yet, the forward who was First-Team All-American Conference last season, as well as the Defensive Player of the Year, told Katz that it's 60-40 right now in favor of the Wolverines.
We'll see how things progress during the NBA draft process. If Lendeborg gets a first-round guarantee or at least is projected to be a top-40 pick, it's hard to see him coming back.
We are already there in terms of his draft stock. Dusty May certainly did wonders for Danny Wolf's draft stock, though. So if Lendeborg played for Michigan, he could be a lottery pick instead of a borderline first-rounder.
Michigan would also have the chance to hang banners next season. With Morez Johnson, Aday Mara, and Lendeborg, along with Will Tschetter, the frontcourt would be loaded. Nimari Burnett, Roddy Gayle, and LJ Cason are back, along with North Carolina transfer Ellioit Cadeau.
Michigan also has dynamic freshman (5-star) Trey McKenney, top-100 sharpshooter Winters Grady, and Oscar Goodman, who redshirted for U-M last season.
The sky is the limit for Michigan basketball, as long as Lendeborg is on the roster. In two weeks, we'll find out sure, but right now, it's still up in the air.
