Michigan football recruiting was on fire in May. Things have cooled a little in June, but they should start to pick back up again on Wednesday.
Four-star EDGE Ifeanyi Emedobi was recently on campus for an official visit. Minnesota, Maryland, and Indiana are among the teams in the mix to land the blue-chip pass rusher ranked No. 402 overall in the 2027 class via the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Emedobi canceled his visit to Indiana, which was a good sign for the Wolverines, who hosted him for a visit instead last weekend in Ann Arbor.
Michigan target sets a decision date
That kind of thing is usually a good sign. Like clockwork, Michigan started getting expert projections to land the disruptive defender. There are two crystal ball projections in favor of the Wolverines. The Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine also has Michigan football as the overwhelming favorite.
Rivals gives Michigan a 95 percent chance to win the commitment of Emedobi, which is only made more likely by the decision timeline he announced on Wednesday.

It felt like a decision was coming soon, but Emedobi confirmed that he will announce via the Rivals YouTube channel on Thursday at 11 AM.
That's great news for the Wolverines and head coach Kyle Whittingham. Anytime you have a slew of projections for a recruit, it's a good thing to close out the commitment. You never want things to linger.
Michigan established itself as the favorite for the 215-pounder, who had 50 tackles last season, 15 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. Emedobi doesn't have the ideal size for an EDGE, but he's a disruptive player with a great bend. If he can grow into his body, adding another 20 pounds or so, which should be easy at Michigan, he could be similar to Josiah Stewart, who was listed at 6-1, 245 pounds when he was at Michigan.
If Michigan does land Emedobi's commitment, as expected, it would be the 13th blue-chip commitment for Whittingham's first class. There are 16 commitments total right now. 12 of them are blue chips. The class is currently ranked 14th in the 247 Sports composite team rankings.
It would also be the first commitment for Michigan since Blake Jenkins back on June 4th, although Lincoln Mageo is expected to choose U-M on July 11th. There are some other targets on the board, too, so the work is far from finished, but it is with Emedobi, who should be a Wolverine by Thursday.
