Two candidates to be next Michigan football commitment in 2025
Michigan football has 13 commitments in the 2025 class and fans might be wondering when No. 14 will come on board.
The hope is that will happen next Monday. Four-star tight end Andrew Olesh was expected to announce his commitment this past Monday but decided to push things back a week.
Olesh is ranked No. 130 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and he's also the fifth-ranked tight end in the class at 6-foot-5, 212 pounds.
Out of Pennsylvania, Penn State felt like the leader a few weeks ago but a recent official visit to Michigan football changed that. U-M started trending with expert projections after the visit but Alabama is in the mix too. The Crimson Tide are making a late push and they are the team to worry about as the decision date looms.
The good news is that there has been minimal buzz this week about Olesh. All the reports still indicate that Michigan football leads and if U-M can hold onto that over the weekend, it should land another blue-chip commitment -- the 11th of the 2025 class.
Another commitment candidate for Michigan football
Another top target coming off the board soon for Michigan football is three-star wideout Phillip Wright. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound wideout is electric. He's run the 100-meter dash in 10.6 seconds and just released a final three that includes Georgia, Michigan, and Georgia Tech.
Wright who is out of Destrehan, Louisiana, took official visits to each school. Like Jasper Parker, he doesn't have an offer from LSU, but Wright is a dynamic receiver and returner. He sort of reminds me of Semaj Morgan and is ranked No. 533 overall in 2025 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Wright is announcing his commitment on July 11th and like Olesh, the crystal balls and the On3 prediction machine favor Michigan football.
