Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore was active on social media on Saturday, posting the eyeball emoji and #GoBlue three different times.

Usually, with Moore, that's code for a commitment. The Michigan football head coach tweeted similar things out before the commitments of Jaylen Williams, Kainoa Winston, Jasper Parker, and also Brady Hart, the top-100 QB who committed earlier this week to the Wolverines.

More recruiting buzz for Michigan football

So Moore generated plenty of excitement on Saturday when he had three different posts indicating commitments. There were 17 official visitors on campus as part of Victors Weekend and to be honest, Michigan football is trending with a bunch of targets, so it's not easy to guess who Moore was talking about because there are 6-8 candidates.

However, running backs coach Tony Alford re-posted Moore's post, with his own, which gives you an indication that one of the commitments is a running back. Soon after that, expert projections and crystal ball predictions started coming in for Michigan football to land four-star running back Donovan Johnson from the IMG Academy.

Johnson is ranked No. 232 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and that's after missing all of last season. He's got elite potential though and if he can stay healhty this season, his ranking could even improve.

Johnson is 6-foot, 205 pounds. Michigan football hosted him for a mid-week visit and Steve Wiltfong has projected Johnson to U-M, along with others. The Wolverines have an 86-percent chance to land his commitment according to the On3 prediction machine.

While the interest has dropped off some since the injury, the offer list for Johnson is impressive and includes Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, USC, Texas A&M, and a bunch of other heavy hitters. Johnson also averaged 8.1 yards per carry two years ago.

The four-star back has tremendous upside and he's a great to pair with Jasper Parker, who I feel is vastly underrated. Parker should be a blue-chip too and the running back haul of Parker and Johnson will keep the Michigan running back room replenished.
