3 thoughts going into Victors Weekend for Michigan football
Michigan football has momentum on the recruiting trail as 17 recruits come to campus for official visits. The Wolverines lead with some of the recruits set to visit and hope to establish themselves as the favorite for others.
But in the previous two weeks, Michigan football has landed four commitments. Two of those players, including 2026 quarterback Brady Hart, are top-100 recruits. The Wolverines landed one in the 2023 and 2024 classes combined, but have landed three in the past two months.
So Sherrone Moore is giving Michigan football a bump on the recruiting trail and looking ahead to Victors Weekend here are three thoughts on a huge recruiting weekend.
Time to close
Michigan football is trending as the favorite with six 2025 recruits right now and five of them are going to be on campus for official visits this weekend.
Those players are: 4-star OL Hardy Watts, 4-star DL Maxwell Roy, 4-star WR Taz Williams, 3-star LB Chase Taylor, and 3-star OL Kayden Strayhorn.
Three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright has also been trending with expert projections to the Wolverines but is expected to visit Georgia this weekend. He visited Michigan football last weekend.
Roy visited Ohio State last weekend and while the Wolverines still feel like the leader, this would be a great chance to close. Strayhorn is being recruited as a center in the 2025 class, plus it would be nice to seal the deal with Williams and Watts. Clemson has been the top contender for Watts, who is from Brookline Massachusetts and is 6-foot-6, 300 pounds.
Michigan football has eight commitments in the 2025 class, but that number could easily be in double digits very soon, especially if things go well this weekend.
