This will be the last year of the Michigan football recruiting BBQ. That's because, in 2024, the month of July will be a complete dead period and closed off for in-person recruiting.

The entire recruiting calendar will change. That's probably a good thing but as far as this weekend is concerned, it's a great opportunity for the Wolverines to close with some key 2025 targets, while also building momentum in the 2026 class.

In terms of 2025, Michigan football has a bunch of commitments on campus. Yet, three uncommitted targets are visiting and they will take center stage. The two top-100 wideouts on campus -- Jerome Myles and Andrew Marsh -- take center stage.

Marsh has been projected to Michigan football by numerous recruiting experts. The top-100 wideout from Texas also took an official visit in June. Myles hasn't visited Michigan football yet. He decommitted from Ole Miss and the Wolverines are among the top contenders.

Landing both wideouts would be incredible, but just getting one would be huge for the wide receiver room going forward. It's been a few years since the Wolverines landed a receiver in the top 100.

Jayden Sanders, a four-star cornerback, is also visiting this weekend. He feels like a Michigan lean too after some recent expert projections. The Wolverines have done very well at safety, but landing a blue-chip corner is a key part of the agenda.

Ivan Taylor is a hybrid cornerback/safety, but Sanders would be the first cornerback commitment if Michigan football is able to land him.

Some elite 2026 recruits visiting for Michigan football BBQ

The Wolverines are also hosting some elite talent in the 2026 class such as Savion Hiter, the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2026 class. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound running back is ranked third at his position in 2026.

Hiter is one of 38 2026 recruits on campus this weekend for Michigan football. Four-star QB commitment Brady Hart is one of those, along with CJ Sadler, a four-star wideout who is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Michigan for 2026. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver from Detroit is ranked No. 71 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

While many are focused on trying to close with the three 2025 recruits visiting, it's also a huge opportunity for the 2026 class and that's one that Sherrone Moore and Michigan football could really knock out of the park, especially with Hart already in the fold.
