Keep your eyes peeled. This is the time of the year where underrated recruits can start to soar up the rankings. While some will be picking their colleges of choice at various points of the summer, guys with two and three stars next to their name are hoping to prove their worth. One player the Michigan Wolverines will need to keep close tabs on would be three-star wide receiver Charles "Tre" Britton III.
Over the weekend, Britton was the best overall performer during the Under Armour Ohio Regional.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Britton is the No. 13 player from Michigan, the No. 95 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 795 overall recruit nationally. He has 35 official offers, but he seems to be tied to Michigan and Missouri the most. He has an official visit to Missouri on June 5, and then two weeks later, Britton will be making his official visit to Ann Arbor on June 19. Will he commit?
With how great Britton just looked, Kyle Whittingham and his staff might have to fend off some teams.
Michigan cannot mess around during Charles Britton III's recruitment
Look. There may be other teams that could come out of the woodwork to cut Michigan or Missouri at the front of the line for Britton's three-star services. While it may be too early to count on that even happening, it would be such a bad look for Michigan if Whittingham cannot beat out Missouri for this gettable in-state prospect. Missouri does recruit well under Eliah Drinkwitz, but not like Michigan can.
Overall, what we saw transpire at the Under Armour Ohio Regional is how good prospects like Britton become great ones, and get noticed even more. Michigan might be expected to do great things this season, but there is now way around it, this is still a transitional period for the program. How quickly the players and Whittingham's staff can get on the same page, the better. Could Britton join them?
For the time being, Michigan feels like the team that is in the driver's seat to land him. He stars in-state. While Missouri could potentially land him, keep in mind that Britton visits Michigan two weeks after he goes to Missouri. That could matter a ton in his recruitment. There is a non-zero chance he could be committing soon. Then again, he could be opening the door to get even more offers now.
This is why Michigan needs to do its part to seal the deal with Britton when he does come to campus.
