Former Michigan basketball star Vlad Goldin didn't hear his name called in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft, but he was signed by the Miami Heat to a two-way deal on Thursday night soon after.

Sometimes, it can be better not to get drafted in the late portion of the draft. It allows players to choose their destination. Miami has had plenty of success with big guys over the years. Goldin is 7-foot-1 and a dominant low-post scorer.
A two-day deal means a player can play a certain number of games in the NBA, but also in the G-League. It's a great opportunity for Goldin, even if he didn't get drafted as he should have. Former Michigan basketball player Hunter Dickinson wasn't drafted either.
Recruiting insider teases another Michigan football commitment, Sherrone Moore does too
Hayes Fawcett, an On3 recruiting insider, posted earlier this week that Michigan is poised to get four commitments. He posted the Michigan flag (x4). It was clear what that meant. The Wolverines have landed three commitments already this week.

But Fawcett posted the Michigan flag again on Thursday. Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore also teased another commitment, posting, "Yes Sir!!!! #GoBlue" on X.
The four exclamation points make it feel like a big deal. Michigan has been projected to land eight different 2026 recruits recently. Malakai Lee is among them. The elite offensive tackle has been trending to the Michigan Wolverines, and a commitment date that is on June 27th (Saturday).
It feels like a bunch of good news is coming for Michigan football, as well as another top-10 recruiting class.
Michigan Wolverines should have a big night in NHL draft
It was a big night for Michigan basketball on Wednesday as Danny Wolf became the 12th first-round pick of the Wolverines in the past 13 years.
The NHL draft has also seen plenty of Michigan Wolverines drafted over the years. Hockey is a little different. Players can be selected by NHL teams but still elect to play college hockey. The NHL team just retains the player's rights until they turn pro.
The Detroit Free Press mentions eight Michigan hockey players who could get selected on Friday night, including forward Malcolm Spence, a forward, who is expected to be a first-round pick.
