With a total of 10 commitments in June, it's fair to say that Michigan football is on fire on the recruiting trail.
That became even more pronounced on Sunday, when the Wolverines landed the commitment of five-star Carter Meadows, the No. 6 overall prospect, according to On3's rankings for the 2026 class. He's a top-100 recruit in both the On3 Industry Rankings and the 247 Sports composite rankings.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound EDGE committed to the Michigan Wolverines over Ohio State and Penn State. Even Sherrone Moore celebrated the commitment, something he rarely does.
Not only did Michigan land a third five-star in the past two classes, the Wolverines also surged into the top 10 of the 2026 team rankings, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Michigan football has 17 commitments total. 10 of them are blue-chips (7 in the top 168 overall), but there's a chance that Brody Jennings flips to Miami, although the Wolverines could find a way to keep him in the class.
Either way the 2026 class should grow on Monday.
Four-star cornerback has commitment announcement
Four-star cornerback Andre Clarke, who is ranked No. 177 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, is expected to commit to the Michigan Wolverines at 3 PM EST.
Out of Richmond, Virginia, Clarke could be a cornerback or safety at the next level. He might even be a nickel for the Wolverines.
Either way, Clarke would be the eighth top-200 commitment in the 2026 class for Michigan football, if he does choose the Wolverines on Monday.
Michigan kills it in NHL draft
The Michigan hockey team tied a school record as seven players, including first-round pick Will Horcoff (goalie), with ties to the program, were drafted in the 2025 NHL draft. All six players selected on Saturday will be incoming freshmen.
