Michigan football has a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail, and there could be more good news for the Wolverines on Saturday.

Three-star linebacker/athlete Markel Dabney, who has been committed to SMU since May, has been on campus in Ann Arbor twice in the past week.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker took an official visit to Michigan football before camping with the Michigan Wolverines with his seven-on-seven team. Despite being committed to SMU, an ACC program now, Dabney posted on social media that he has an announcement coming on June 21st.

Dabney is ranked No. 785 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. EJ Holland of The Wolverine projected him to flip to Michigan football earlier this week. Pittsburgh is another team in the mix, but another commitment could be coming on Saturday.

Colston Loveland on living "rent free" heads of Ohio State fans

Colston Loveland, a recent first-round draft pick, and member of the Michigan football 2023 national championship team, in addiiton to owning a 3-0 record against Ohio State, was on the Rich Eisen Podcast this week and talked about Michigan living "rent free" in the the minds of Ohio State fans, even if some credit that loss as the spark to the national title run.

Loveland also re-lived his favorite win against Ohio State, which he told Eisen was back in 2022, when he caught a 45-yard touchdown pass as a true freshman.

“I think my favorite one was my freshman year at their place,” Loveland said. “They’re all my favorites, but that one, for sure, since it was my first touchdown, and at their place, we put it on them.”

Michigan basketball player selected for Team USA

While Yaxel Lendeborg may get most of the headlines, in terms of the Michigan Wolverines transfer portal class in men's basketball, Morez Johnson was also a massive addition.

The rising sophomore was one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the Big Ten as a true freshman. He scored seven points, grabbed 6.7 rebounds, and blocked 1.1 shots in 17.7 minutes per game. Just imagine what he can do in 30 minutes per game?

Johnson is proven in terms of being productive in the Big Ten, but stlll has huge upside, which is reflected by his selection to the US national team for the U-19 FIBA World Cup.

Johnson had to play his way on the team and his selection is another reminder of just how good he is, and how good he can be.
