Michigan football is hosting 20 recruits from the 2026 class on official visits this weekend. Some of those recruits are already committed as part of the class, but some key targets remain on the board.
We covered some of the most important names from a Michigan football perspective this weekend. Running back Savion Hiter leads a group of must-land recruits for the Wolverines.
Most of those players are on campus this weekend. Not all of them are. One 2026 recruit who is on campus but isn't being talked about enough is three-star offensive tackle Marky Walbridge.
Wolverines quietly leading for another 2026 O-line recruit
Out of Massachusetts, Walbridge is 6-foot-6, 280 pounds. He's ranked No. 443 overall (3-star) in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The offensive tackle recruit has a crystal ball projection for the Michigan Wolverines dating back to March.
This recruitment has been difficult to read. Walbridge doesn't talk much to the media but he's a highly-touted prospect, maybe even more so than his ranking suggests.
Penn State, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Boston College each hosted him for official visits. According to Brian Dohn of 247 Sports, Walbridge isn't "leaning" in one direction or another.
Still, he visited Michigan football this spring. His crystal ball is from Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider. Lorenz is one of the trusted insiders on the beat, so his prediction carries some weight.
There haven't been any major changes to move him off that. Nobody else has joined, though. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Penn State a slight edge over Michigan, 29 percent to 25 percent.
However, this will be his fifth trip to Michigan. That ties Penn State for the lead. Walbridge could also be an interior offensive lineman, so he would be a valuable addition to the class.
A decision should come soon after the Michigan official visit, and right now, if I had to guess, the Wolverines would be by choice for his commitment.
