Michigan football is up to nine commitments in the 2026 recruiting class. The Wolverines are hoping to add to that number this weekend, as 13 recruits will head to Ann Arbor for official visits.
It's a star-studded weekend with three players ranked in the top 100 of the On3 Industry rankings, set to be on campus, which includes five-star running back Savion Hiter.
Every prospect on campus, save one (high 3-star), is ranked as a blue-chip (4-star or higher), and all 13 are ranked in the top 500 overall (On3). Hiter is the top target this weekend. He might be the top target in the entire class.
A five-star wide receiver would be awesome, at some point, but landing a five-star running back would probably make even more sense for Michigan. The Wolverines have shown their commitment to the running game, and that won't change, even with Bryce Underwood.
If the Wolverines landed Hiter, he would be the crown jewel of their 2026 class. The five-star back has already visited Ohio State and Georgia. Tennessee is up next for the No. 11 overall recruit in 2026 out of Mineral, Virginia.
Michigan football needs to move the needle significantly this weekend. However, Hiter isn't the only priority target on campus this weekend.
Other priorities for Michigan football visiting this weekend
Speaking of running the ball, offensive linemen are vital in that. John Turntine, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound interior offensive lineman from Fort Worth, Texas, is visiting. He's ranked 42nd overall. Texas and Texas A&M lead his recruitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Another player who should be on the radar of fans this weekend is four-star wideout Travis Johnson. He's ranked No. 160 overall and is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds out of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Michigan has been near the top of the board with Johnson, and after missing on the flip attempt of Brady Marchese earlier this week, it would be great to see the Wolverines make a move with Johnson.
Another Virginia recruit, Andre Clark, a four-star safety ranked 184th, out of Richmond, will also be on campus. Michigan has the early lead with Kentucky close behind via the On3 Prediction Machine.
Four-star linebacker Kenneth Goodwin, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound four-star recruit from Torrance, California, will also visit. He's No. 366 overall and received a crystal ball projection to Michigan football from 247 Sports. He could be on commitment watch this weekend or soon after.
Alister Vallejo, the newest Michigan commitment, will also take his official visit along with Ben Boulware, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound defensive tackle out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Michigan has a 70 percent chance to land the No. 420 prospect overall in the 2026 class via On3 (RPM).
4-star safety Chace Calicut is another on the radar, although Texas is a heavy favorite for the lone-star DB ranked in the top 200. Jordan Deck, who will announce a commitment on July 1st, is visiting, too.
Michigan has a chance to seize the momentum ahead of his commitment in just over two weeks. The Wolverines have momentum of their own after two commitments this past week.
We'll see if they can build on that this weekend.
