Michigan football has built some serious momentum with five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood, one of the top prospects available in the 2025 class.

With most of the top players signed, Haywood is the top-ranked player that is uncommitted. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, is out of Denton, Texas.

Haywood was committed to Alabama but it became clear around Early Signing Day that Haywood wouldn't be part of Alabama's 2025 class. Michigan football has had plenty of competition for Haywood and it's easy to see why.

The No. 18 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, visited Michigan football recently. The reports have been positive and on Monday, Steve Wiltfong and Chad SImmons, the top recruiting experts for On3.com, have projected Haywood to U-M.

EJ Holland of The Wolverine projected Haywood to Michigan football earlier and multiple experts expect it to happen.

3 five-stars for Michigan football in 2025

If those predictions prove to be accurate, Michigan football would sign a pair of five-star tackles in the 2025 class with Andrew Babalola being the other. It would also be the third five-star prospect in 2025 for the Wolverines, who last landed a five-star in the 2022 class (Will Johnson).

One of those five-star signees is Bryce Underwood and bringing along two five-star tackles is a pretty good way to set him up for success. Michigan also has a top-100 wideout in the class, but Haywood would give the Wolverines two elite offensive linemen up front, which has to be music to the ears of Michigan football fans everywhere.
