The biggest target remaining for Michigan football's 2025 recruiting class is five star offensive lineman Ty Haywood. Haywood had been committed to Alabama since July. After Haywood opted to not sign with the Crimson Tide during the early signing period, it became expected that he would end up elsewhere. On Monday, Haywood officially decommitted from Alabama.

Michigan football has been making a huge push for Haywood ever since Bryce Underwood shocked the world and flipped from LSU to Michigan. This recruitment has been centered around NIL, and it appears that Michigan is taking the same approach as it did for Underwood - they won't be outbid.

This recruitment looks like a three-team race between Michigan football, Texas Tech, and Florida State. The Wovlerines are viewed as heavy favorites and will have a chance to seal the deal this coming weekend as Haywood is going to be in Ann Arbor. The Red Raiders attempted to make an NIL push, but reports were that their offer wasn't competitive with Michigan's.

It's unclear if Texas Tech is going to be able to make a competitive offer, but the Wolverines definitely have an edge there. With Florida State, things are a bit more unknown. The Seminoles definitely have the pockets to be competitive with NIL, but it still might not be enough to overtake Michigan. The Wolverines are committed to earning Haywoods commitment.

Keep an eye out for any updates with Haywood as he visits campus. As of now, things look good for Michigan.
