Michigan football will have a bye week, but in college football, there are no off days.
The Wolverines have things to fine tune as far as the 2025 season goes. Yet, it will also be a busy week on the recruiting trail for Michigan football as it looks to lock down its 2026 recruiting class.
Coaches will be on the road to see several commits, according to EJ Holland of The Wolverine. Yet, the Michigan recruiting reporter also notes linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary will be out to visit four-star linebacker Braylon Hodge, a Michigan State commitment.
Hodge is from Colorado. He's been committed to Sparty since the summer. Yet, the Wolverines offered him earlier this much, and his reaction led you to believe he was seriously interested.
Soon after, reports of a game-day visit started surfacing. Jean-Mary taking the trip to Colorado certainly can't hurt the Wolverines' chances of making more headway with Hodge.
Michigan football in ideal position to flip another LB, too
The Wolverines are also trying to flip Georgia linebacker Nick Abrams. It's not clear if Michigan would take both. Hodge is ranked No. 273 overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's listed at 6-foot-3, 212 pounds. He's also one of the fastest-rising players in the 2026 class right now, as Michigan, Oregon, and Colorado each offered in the past few weeks.
Oregon is also in the mix for Abrams, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound Georgia commitment also ranked in the top 300.
