The vibes surrounding Michigan football are good right now, following the 30-27 win over Nebraska on Saturday.

Now, the Wolverines head into a bye week. That will give them a chance to focus on some areas of imporvement. It's also a great opportunity to generate some momentum on the recruiting trail, which Michigan was already doing with a four-star Georgia linebacker commitment.

Nick Abrams, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker out of Owings Mills, Maryland, who is ranked No. 291 overall, committed to Georgia over the summer, selecting the Bulldogs despite strong efforts from the Wolverines and Oregon.

According to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, Michigan hasn't stopped recruiting Abrams. They have been in constant contact with the blue-chip linebacker. And now, it appears that effort is paying off.

Holland also reported on Saturday that Abrams has locked in a visit to Ann Arbor for the Wisconsin game.

That doesn't mean that a flip is 100 percent happening. It's a good sign, though. Abrams took an official visit over the summer and there was a feeling, at least for a while, that Michigan football held the pole position.

Georgia won out. Oregon is still pushing, but Michigan football desperately needs a four-star linebacker in the class. Markel Dabney is the only linebacker in the class, but Abrams is more of a three-down linebacker, which is rare. He's a sideline-to-sideline tackler, he can rush the passer, and is good against the run.

The immediate future is in good hands, especially with Cole Sullivan looking like a star. However, adding a guy like Abrams would solidify for the position for the future, while filling one of the remaining holes in the 2026 Michigan football recruiting class.
