Michigan football fans have been clamoring for another offensive tackle in the transfer portal and rightfully so.
But maybe the offensive line help Michigan needs will be coming from the freshman class. The Wolverines already have one five-star offensive tackle signed as part of the 2025 class, Andrew Babalola.
However, the Wolverines have also been pushing to land former Alabama commitment Ty Haywood, who is ranked 18th overall in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder out of Denton, Texas, is the fourth-ranked offensive tackle in the class too.

Haywood recently decommitted from Alabama and is taking an official visit to Michigan football this weekend. U-M isn't the only team in the mix. Texas Tech and Florida State are two of the most prominent with their NIL offerings and make no mistake, NIL will be a huge factor here.
But how many chances do you get as a program to land two five-star offensive tackles in the same class as a five-star quarterback? Michigan football also landed a top-100 receiver for the first time in a few years in Andrew Marsh, so the arrow is pointing up for the offense.
As far as the visit, it seems to be going well. Haywood arrived on Friday and according to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, Michigan football is the "team to beat" in this recruitment.
Holland has already projected Michigan to get Haywood's commitment. He said he still feels confident in that prediction and if this visit weekend goes as well as expected, it's possible Michigan football fans won't have to wait much longer for a commitment.
