As far as Michigan football is concerned, the Wolverines should have a relatively quiet Early National Signing Day, outside of the fact that U-M is expected to sign 27 recruits.

Michigan's class is ranked 11th right now, according to the 247 Sports team rankings for the 2026 class. That doesn't seem likely to change. It didn't after the Wolverines added their latest commitment, via a flip, from three-star O-line Adrian Hamilton. He was committed to Virginia Tech.

That's the second flip in the 2026 class this week. Michigan finally landed another cornerback, flipping four-star Jamarion Vincent from Baylor. He's 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, and ranked No. 168 overall.

There was some concern that Julian Walker might flip to South Carolina, but it appears that his decision has been made, and he will sign with Michigan football. He's an exciting EDGE ranked 96th overall in the 2026 class.

15 of the Wolverines 27 commits are blue-chip prospects (four or five-star recruits). Michigan has 13 four-star commitments, plus two five-star pledges from Carter Meadows and Savion Hiter, who are each ranked in the top 10 overall.

This will be the second class in a row with multiple five-star signees. The blue-chip percentage is 55 percent, which is lower than the past two seasons, yet Michigan has generally been good with its evaluations, although we'll see if that remains true under Sherrone Moore.

Still, Michigan has 16 top-500 recruits in the class and some other developmental pieces. We will update this tracker with news and the signings as they are announced by the Michigan football program on Early National Signing Day for the 2026 recruiting class.

Three commitments have delayed signing

The four-star wide receiver posted on social media that he is delaying his signing. That doesn't sound good for the Wolverines. Maybe he's concerned about the passing attack. We'll see what happens, or if this was just a short-term snafu, but it didn't seem like this was expected. It sounds like Texas is making a push for the blue-chip wideout.

Julian Walker is also delaying his signing until Thursday, according to Hayes Fawcett. Now it's being reported that Travis Johnson isn't signing just yet, as he gets interest from Virginia Tech.

That's three recruits all ranked in the top 182 re-considering. That's the last thing you want on signing day.

UPDATE: Travis Johnson has signed with the Wolverines.

Michigan still has three players signed with running back Savion Hiter, wide receiver Zion Robinson and Julian Walker still yet to sign. Hiter is expected to sign after a minor contract issue is worked out with his NIL dead. Walker and Robinson we just don't know.
