It was a wild two days for Michigan football on the recruiting trail. What was expected to be a drama-free signing day for the Wolverines turned out to be anything but.

However, Michigan closed strong on Thursday. After four-star EDGE Julian Walker flipped to South Carolina, and four-star WR Zion Robinson flipped to Stanford, it was fair to say Michigan football fans needed a pick-me-up.

Michigan adds a weapon for Bryce Underwood

Well, they got it, just recently, as four-star wideout Brady Marchese, who is ranked No. 134th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, flipped his commitment from the Georgia Bulldogs to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday.

Over the summer, Michigan football seemed to be in a good position to flip Marchese, who is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Yet, he wound up reaffirming his commitment to Georgia. Zion Robinson committed soon after that. He has now flipped to Stanford. Yet, Marchese is ranked 48 spots higher.

That doesn't guarantee he will be a better player, but it's a good way to close out the 2026 recruiting class. Michigan still landed four blue chips on the defensive line, which includes five-star Carter Meadows, McHale Blade, Titan Davis, and Alister Vallejo. So even though Walker stings, Michigan has a stellar haul on the D-line.

The wide reciever class is good, too. Jaylen Pile is also part of that. He's a three-star, but has been productive down in Texas. Travis Johnson (107 overall) and Marchese, along with Andrew Marsh, give Michigan three quality players at the position in two classes.

If Michigan adds a piece or two in the portal, it will be cooking with gas in the wide receiver room.
