Dave Portnoy was Michigan fans everywhere when the Sherrone Moore news dropped

Barstool Sports founder and avid Wolverines fan Dave Portnoy was just as shocked as everyone else when the Sherrone Moore news broke.

Sherrone Moore had a rapid fall from grace on Wednesday night as reports broke that the Michigan Wolverines had fired their head coach, and then reports were released that he had been detained by the police.

As the news unfolded and the world of college football reacted in turn, so did the founder and CEO of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy.

Portnoy, one of the (in)famously loudest Wolverine fans on social media, had a reaction that made the rest of the fanbase feel a little more seen and a little less insane.

Dave Portnoy was just as shocked as everyone else

"Sherrone Moore fired?!" Portnoy said on a video he posted to social media. "I thought he was getting another year. I don't even know how to speak."

Portnoy went on to remind everyone associated with Michigan and the rest of college football fans that the Wolverines shouldn't accept the output that they had under Moore, finishing the year at 9-3 overall, including the embarrassing loss to Ohio State.

He implored everyone to remember that the Michigan Wolverines play for National Championships, and shouldn't accept anything less than that.

Now, keep in mind that Moore wasn't fired for his winning record. He was fired "with cause" for reportedly having inappropriate relationships with a staffer.

"Late Wednesday evening, it was reported that Saline Police had detained Moore earlier in the day. He was transferred to Pittsfield Township and, eventually, the Washtenaw County Jail," Tony Garcia and Christian Romo reported for the Detroit Free Press.

However, whatever the cause of Moore's firing was, Portnoy is correct. Michigan can't settle for a couple of losses and missing the College Football Playoff, especially just two years after winning the National Championship.

The dominoes will continue to fall, and now, the Wolverines will have to catch up to the rest of the country, which already had about two dozen teams find new head coaches.
