According to ESPN Senior Writer Dan Wetzel, former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, officially let go by the university on Wednesday, has been detained by police in Michigan. This latest news comes not long after Michigan announced Moore had been fired with cause.
Michigan already linked to worst coach possible after firing Sherrone Moore
In his statement, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel stated that Moore indeed had been fired with cause after an investigation performed by the university found that the coach had participated in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Manuel, in his statement, said that Michigan has zero tolerance for such behavior, which led to Moore's immediate dismissal.
Not long after Manuel released his statement, Wetzel provided the new report that Moore was detained by the Saline Police Department. He has since been 'turned over' to police in Pittsfield Township and another investigation is on the way. No charges have been filed as of this writing:

Former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore was detained by police after his firing
"The City of Saline Police Department assisted in locating and detaining former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore," Wetzel was told in a statement from the Saline Police Department. "Mr. Moore was turned over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department for investigation into potential charges."
Pittsfield Township is located roughly 15-20 minutes outside of Ann Arbor. The news of Moore's firing caught everyone off guard, as the Wolverines just finished a 9-3 regular season. It was believed that with a win over Ohio State in the regular season finale, Michigan was going to have an incredible argument to claim a spot in the CFP.
However, a lopsided loss to Ohio State in Ann Arbor was posted and the Wolverines are now headed for the Citrus Bowl against Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns. With Moore's firing, Biff Poggi has taken over as the interim head coach. A search will be launched immediately for Michigan to hire a new full-time leader of the program, as Moore has coached his last game for the Wolverines.
