In what's easily the biggest shocker thus far since the regular season ended, Michigan football is now on the hunt for a new head coach. Moments ago, earth-shattering news dropped that the Wolverines have fired Sherrone Moore. Who in the world saw this coming?
3 coaches Michigan must call immediately after firing Sherrone Moore
ESPN's Pete Thamel, Adam Schefter and Dan Wetzel were all on the news. Michigan suffered a rough loss in Ann Arbor to Ohio State to close out the fall schedule, which had fans upset. With that defeat, the Wolverines officially missed out on the College Football Playoff and are headed for the Citrus Bowl against Texas.
We now know that Moore won't be on the sidelines for that game, as Warde Manuel announced that after a university investigation was completed, it was determined that Moore had an 'inappropriate relationship' with a staff member, which led to his firing:

Michigan has reportedly fired head coach Sherrone Moore in a shocking twist
As Manuel noted in his release, the firing of Moore is effective immediately. He added that the university has zero tolerance for his kind of behavior, which is why the news has come in so quickly. Again, Michigan just lost to Ohio State less than two weeks ago and since Sunday, the full focus has shifted to the Texas game during bowl season.
With Moore no longer coaching at Michigan, veteran Biff Poggi will step in as the interim coach for the matchup against Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns. Poggi is not expected to be given the full-time job, however, so you'd have to assume the Wolverines will begin a search for a Moore replacement immediately.
Michigan went 9-3 this year and looked close to pushing for a final CFP spot. However, the loss to Ohio State changed everything for the outcome of the season. With Moore officially fired, could this lead to star players deciding to enter the transfer portal? This will be something to watch out for, with the list of course including Bryce Underwood.
