Michigan football fans are going to like Bryce Underwood. Not only is the five-star quarterback quite possibly the most talented recruit in the history of the program, but he also gets the rivalry with Ohio State.

The 6-foot-4 quarterback who signed with Michigan football out of Belleville, Michigan, after he flipped his commitment from LSU, was in Los Angeles recently for a Lakers game.

Underwood got a chance to take a photo and talk to LeBron James after the game. As it turns out, Michigan football fans will love what the young quarterback had to say.

On the Rich Eisen podcast, Underwood said he told LeBron that "It's over for Ohio State."

Why Bryce Underwood's Ohio State comments aren't off base

Ohio State is the defending national champion, but the Buckeyes have lost their last four games against Michigan.

J.J. McCarthy, the greatest college quarterback in Michigan history, was the starting quarterback for two of those wins. However, U-M also beat Ohio State with Cade McNamara, playing against CJ Stroud, as well as Davis Warren, who was opposite of Will Howard.

If Michigan can beat Ohio State with guys like Davis Warren and McNamara, just imagine what Underwood will do for the Wolverines in this rivalry. Ohio State seemingly always has the better quarterback, outside of the 2023 season, but that won't be the case any longer.

Michigan has had the superior defense, which I believe will be the case next season. The Wolverines have had the better running game, and if U-M can stay superior in those elements of the game, plus have the best quarterback in all of college football, which is how good Underwood can be, the sky is the limit.

So, the Buckeyes and their fans should be worried. Of course, they aren't believing that Underwood will have to eat his words. Maybe they'll be right, although Ohio State fans have been saying that since Michigan beat them in 2021 (literally the day after the 2021 game), so who knows.

So Ohio State fans hate it what Underwood said; Michigan football fans love it. What else is new?

I love the mentality. But now that Bryce has talked the talk, he needs to walk the walk.
