What more could Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood ask for on his birthday than a fellow five-star prospect committing to the Wolverines?
When Underwood turned 18 years old and just a few days before he began his collegiate career with the Michigan Wolverines, five-star running back Savion Hiter committed to join the young quarterback in the backfield.
Hiter, who is the No. 8 overall prospect in the class of 2026, won't join Underwood and the Wolverines until next season, but the quarterback couldn't contain his excitement about his future teammate, taking to social media to celebrate:

Underwood, who joined the Wolverines this fall, played a big role in Hiter's recruitment process, jumping in on photo shoots during his official visits and ensuring that Michigan looked like the most promising program possible.
The combination of Underwood and Hiter in the backfield is going to cause a lot of headaches for defensive lines and a lot of nightmares for head coaches and their coordinators.

As a true freshman, Underwood is already primed to take on the role as starting quarterback of the Michigan offense, with running back and fellow freshman Jasper Parker turning heads as well. While Parker may be the here and now for the Wolverines, Hiter is undeniably the future of the backfield, alongside Underwood.
While the first season under head coach Sherrone Moore was far from perfect, the Wolverines are building a monster of a roster in Ann Arbor. Michigan's class of 2025 ranked No. 6 nationally. With the addition of Hiter, the Wolverines' class of 2026 moved up to No. 10 in the country and No. 4 in the Big Ten.
Michigan, likely led by Underwood, is set to kick off its season against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be aired on NBC and Peacock.
