Happy Savion Hiter day and happy birthday to Bryce Underwood!
The Michigan quarterback received the best birthday present imaginable when the five-star running back committed to be his teammate next year.
"I'd love to announce my commitment and the future of my academic career to the University of Michigan," Hiter said.
Underwood, who joined the Wolverines this spring, is already making waves in Ann Arbor, positioning himself to be the starting QB as a true freshman. Alongside his impressive on-field work, he was putting in the necessary effort to land Hiter's commitment.

Hiter chose the Wolverines over a gauntlet of powerhouse programs, including the Tennessee Volunteers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Georgia Bulldogs, all of which were vying for his commitment.
Hiter's mom and dad were alongside when he committed, shouting "Go Blue!" as they revealed their Michigan gear.
With his commitment, Michigan and head coach Sherrone Moore landed the No. 1 running back in the class of 2026 and the No. 8 overall prospect, alongside being the No. 1 recruit out of the state of Virginia.

"GO BLUE!" Hiter shouted to his high school teammates, who were all in attendance for his decision.
Prior to Hiter's commitment, Michigan claimed the No. 11 recruiting class in the nation and the No. 4 class in the Big 10, headlined by five-star EDGE Carter Meadows, four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis, and four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson.
Michigan's class of 2025 recruits, which included Underwood, ranked sixth in the nation, and similarly featured two five-star prospects as well as a handful of four-star and three-star athletes. While Moore's first season as the official head coach was far from ideal, he must be doing something right on the recruiting trail to repeatedly bring in some of the country's top talents.
Underwood and the Wolverines are scheduled to begin their 2025 season with an at-home matchup against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, Aug. 30. The game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be aired on NBC and Peacock.
