Michigan football has been really active in the 2025 recruiting class in recent weeks as we work toward signing day.

The Wolverines have offered some new targets in the 2025 class. They are also working on quite a few flip attempts. Of course, the one everyone knows the most about is five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Underwood is committed to LSU and has been since January. There's been a lot of talk about Michigan football in the media and the Wolverines have made a strong NiL offer to Underwood. The five-star quarterback out of Belleville, Michigan, hasn't said no yet. But he hasn't said yes either.

LSU is attractive to Underwood for reasons beyond money. The Tigers have had two Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks under two head coaches in the last five years. That's a draw and so is offensive coordinator Joe Sloan.

Sloan is a candidate for some head-coaching jobs so maybe that would change things. EJ Holland, a recruiting insider for The Wolverine.com said he still expects Underwood to sign with LSU. Here's the latest update:

“Michigan is still pushing hard for Underwood on the NIL front,” Holland said. “The package being put together is around $10.5 million over four years. Obviously, that is a lot of money and is the biggest reason Underwood is listening to Michigan. However, LSU impressed him on his official visit and is also working the NIL angle hard. Right now, I still expect him to end up at LSU. Still, Michigan is desperate for a high-level quarterback and is willing to go against its nature and pony up with NIL.”

Michigan has already lost the commitment of 2025 QB Carter Smith. He visited Wisconsin over the weekend and it feels like it's Bryce or bust in 2025. We'll see if that's how it plays out.
