2. Blake Corum

Corum was the number one option in 2022. Coming off an injury, that may change in 2023. Coach Harbaugh and Coach Moore would be wise to ease him into the rotation this fall and it shouldn’t come as a surprise. He missed the Ohio State win, another Big Ten championship, and didn’t get to play in the playoffs, which should motivate him to get his teammates back for more.

Corum was arguably the frontrunner to win the prestigious trophy before getting injured against Illinois. He’s increased his rushing stats every year, so it’s hard to imagine him doing it again, but Corum is the type of guy who doesn’t know how to quit. Defenders have a hard time bringing him down and that won’t differ when he is 100% again.

Having seniority over Donovan Edwards is a positive for Corum in the running back battle., but let’s face it, Edwards is a shade better than Corum.

Doubting him to lose the job is comical, however, but only schools who are competing for a national championship have the depth that Michigan football does at the position. It’s hard to find a better back in college, but Michigan football is privileged enough to say they have one.
