The Michigan football program got some new expert projections on Wednesday and we cover that and more in our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup.

It was a pretty solid day for Michigan football on the recruiting trail Wednesday and it started with news that the Michigan Wolverines were trending to flip a Notre Dame commitment.

Owen Wafe was committed to Notre Dame on Wednesday morning, but by the afternoon, he was trending hard with expert projections to commit to Michigan football after decommitting from the Irish and scheduling an official visit to Ann Arbor.

Wafle is a three-star prospect ranked No. 405 overall in the 2024 class, but he’s 6-foot-3, 290 pounds. 247 Sports lists him as an EDGE but I’m wondering if Michigan football will have other plans, knowing how much they love versatile D-lineman.

Michigan football also picked up some recent expert projections for 2024 defensive tackle Deyvid Palepale, as well as 2024 EDGE Devon Baxter. EJ Holland of The Wolverine projected both to the Wolverines.

In other recruiting news, future Michigan Wolverines starting quarterback, five-star QB Jadyn Davis, received an invite to the Elite 11 Finals in LA next month.

There was some controversy when he didn’t get an earlier invite and Air Noland of Ohio State did, but the talent of Davis is undeniable and he always going to the Elite 11. Now, it’s official.

He also shot 39 percent from deep. There shouldn’t be any concerns about admissions and Juwan Howard is pushing hard according to reports.
  • Olivier Nkamhoua is also taking his visit on June 2nd and that graduate transfer from Tennessee would be a huge addition. According to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, Michigan basketball feels good about where it stands once again, even with West Virginia looming.
  • In other Michigan Wolverines news, the Michigan baseball team was able to stay alive in the Big Ten tournament with a 6-3 win over Illinois. Michigan will play again on Friday against the loser of Iowa and Indiana. The Wolverines will need to win five straight to repeat as Big Ten tournament champs.
