Michigan football recruit Jadyn Davis got some good news on Wednesday as he received an invite to the Elite 11 quarterback competition in LA.

Michigan football saw another recruiting victory on Wednesday, as Jadyn Davis was selected to attend the Elite 11 Finals, which will take place June 14-16 in Los Angeles.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of buzz due to Ohio State quarterback commit Air Noland earning an invitation, with it being a bit of a shot at Jadyn Davis. The two were at the same competition and Noland was awarded a higher rating for that weekend, getting him an invite.

That talking can all be dismissed now. Davis will be one of a select handful of quarterbacks to attend the event. So why is this important?

What does the Elite 11 invitation mean for future Michigan football QB?

Well, the Elite 11 is the premier camp for quarterbacks. It is a fairly good indicator of a player’s future success. Just look at this. The 2019 MVP was CJ Stroud. The 2017 MVP was Justin Fields. 2016? Tua Tagovailoa. Typically, the most successful quarterbacks will have attended this event.

If you’re not convinced, here’s another stat: 12 of the last 13 Heisman QB winners have attended Elite 11 events. 15 of the top 20 NFL passers in 2019 had attended Elite 11 events (per their website). While making the finals doesn’t guarantee success, it’s a pretty good indicator.

This is just another win for Michigan football, as their future signal caller will be competing against the best in the nation. It will definitely be interesting to hear how Davis stacks up against the rest of the country.
