For a few minutes, it looked like Terrence Shannon might have committed to Michigan basketball but as of right now, we still don’t know.

It’s been kind of a wild day for Michigan basketball fans. Well, a couple of wild days actually.

It all started on Thursday as word spread that Texas Tech transfer Terrence Shannon was in Ann Arbor for a visit to the Wolverines.

There were rumors going around that Michigan basketball was the leader but that it was going to depend on the admissions process.

Despite that potential hurdle, it seemed like Michigan was going to get over it. There were positive rumblings on all the message boards and then, the coach of the Mac Irvin Fire, an old coach of Shannon’s posted a congratulations post about him committing to Michigan…then deleted it.

The first thought when the tweet was deleted was that maybe it just ruined Shannon’s potential announcement and the delete was just delaying what would be a commitment.

However, this might not be over and Ant Wright, a former Michigan basketball player who has had reliable info about this recruitment, posted that the situation is still fluid.

What’s going on with Terrance Shannon?

Those factors could be having to take extra classes or it could have to do with Michigan’s scholarship situation because the Wolverines don’t have an open one as of right now.

The decisions of Hunter Dickinson, Moussa Diabate, and Caleb Houstan are also pending and they will need to declare their NBA draft intentions by Sunday. The deadline for players to enter the transfer portal and play next season is May 1.

So in the next week or so, we’ll know who is staying and who might be going. As far as Shannon, things look promising, there is even an Instagram post from Jett Howard of Jett eating dinner with Hunter Dickinson and Terrance Shannon.

There is a strong feeling that Dickinson is going to return at this point, especially with all of the NIL money he can make and we should have official word soon.

But it would be even better to get the official word on Shannon too because as we have said, he would be a perfect fit for this Michigan basketball team.
