Jacob Young, PG Rutgers

Jacob Young is a name that has been mentioned frequently in connection to Michigan basketball and for good reason.

The Wolverines could use a veteran point guard, even with the return of Eli Brooks and Young is about as good an option as there is.

He averaged 3.4 assists but also averaged three turnovers which is a little alarming. Yet, he shoots the ball pretty well and would thrive in Michigan’s system. He has the ability to push the ball, plus he would be surrounded by some high-level shooters such as Caleb Houstan and Brooks, who shot 39 percent from deep last season.

Young is also a really good defender and he has just one year of eligibility. Young has also declared for the NBA draft, so that’s another possibility.

But if he returns to the college game, he would worth making a run at. Young could compete with Collins for the starting point guard job and either way, both guys would see plenty of minutes.
