Rasir Bolton, PG Iowa State

Rasir Bolton is another interesting name. He played at Penn State and transferred to Iowa State last season. He averaged 15 points a game for the Cyclones and shot 45 percent overall from the field but just 31 percent from 3-point range.

The nice thing about Bolton is that he’s a proven commodity. He has shown he can play at a high level in the Big Ten and the Big 12. He’s familiar with the league and he’s one of the better point guard options out there.

Like Young, he turns the ball over a little too much, but he also wouldn’t be counted on to do as much with the Wolverines.

Jalen Pickett, Guard Sienna

Joel Soriano of Fordham was originally on this list but he has already committed to St. Johns (life comes at you fast in the portal), and since he was really the only big guy I liked at this point, the next guy on my list is Jalen Pickett, a combo guard from Sienna.

Pickett got some attention as a freshman during a trip to the NCAA Tournament with Sienna but his scoring average has actually dropped since then going from 15.8 in 2018-19 to 12.9 this past season.

Still, Pickett was the 2020 MAAC Player of the Year and for his career, he has averaged five assists per game, which would fit perfectly into what Michigan needs — a shot creator.

It’s always hard to tell how a guy will perform transferring up to a power league, but as a 36-percent 3-point shooter during his career, he does enough things well that he could play a nice role on this team.

There’s also going to be lots of competition for him, so whether or not the Wolverines can land him might be the biggest question.
