Michigan Football: Ranking 2020 opponents by difficulty

6. vs Michigan State – October 31st

Playing your rival will never be easy. Records can normally be thrown out the door, but the Spartans are still lacking a lot of offensive firepower and that is not a good thing when playing Michigan.

The Wolverines have done a great job shutting down bad offenses and unless something drastically changes this year, the Spartans are a bad offensive team.

Rocky Lombardi will likely be the starter after Brian Lewerke graduated. Lewerke was good his freshman year, but then steadily regressed his last three years. Lombardi will look to resurrect a sleepy offense under new coach Mel Tucker.

Tucker replaces Mike Dantonio who abruptly resigned right before signing day. Wolverine fans definitely are not sad to see him go. Tucker is bringing new life to the recruiting trail for the Spartans and it should pay off but they are still a year or two off.
