DE Mike Danna

This name isn’t going to shock people, especially since Jim Harbaugh praised the graduate transfer on his weekly podcast this week, but that doesn’t change the fact that Mike Danna likely will start the season as a reserve.

The 6-foot-2 defensive end was one of the top defensive players in the MAC last season at Central Michigan, earning First-Team All-Conference honors after 14 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

Yet, with guys like Josh Uche, who had seven sacks and Kwity Paye on the roster, as well as Aidan Hutchinson, walking in and playing right away won’t be easy.

Danna is going to have to work his way onto the field but with the departure of Winovich and Gary, the Wolverines need more pass rushers and while Uche is stellar, Danna is going to play a key role as an edge rusher.

He comes to Michigan with 15 career sacks and by the end of the season, he will add at least five or six more to his total, which in turn, will open the eyes of NFL scouts.
