Michigan Football: 3 Wolverines that could breakout in the Peach Bowl
The linebacker can lay claim to a starting job
Losing Higdon and Gary is rough but it’s hard to say that anyone on the Michigan football team makes a bigger impact than Devin Bush Jr., who was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
Bush is tremendous against the run; he can blitz, he can cover — he can do it all. He’s also a team captain and a very physical presence in the middle of the Wolverines defense. He will be missed.
But Michigan has other guys that are capable of doing a good job as well and this will be their first big opportunity. Obviously, Josh Ross and Devin Gil will see more snaps and both did a solid job during the season, although Gil got burned several times in the Ohio State game, however, the coaching staff should know man-to-man coverage is not his strong suit.
Another guy that should get more playing time in this game is Jordan Anthony. He has played in two games so far this season and has four tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss. He’s 6-foot and 245 pounds and has looked the part when he’s been out there. He’s a guy to watch and another name to keep an eye on is Cameron McGrone.
